Clairlea Panther Challenge #4

Clairlea Panther Challenge #4

This week’s Panther Challenge is to…………….Build a Nest
It’s the time of year when birds all over Ontario are starting to make their nests.
Over the next few days, spend a little time researching and gathering information
on how some of Ontario’s birds gather, build and find locations for their nests.
Here are a few questions that you can start with…
1.       What materials does the bird use to build a nest from?
(There are thousands of materials that they use and they differ from species to species)
2.      Where do they build their nests?
3.      Why do they choose that location?
4.      What happens to the nests when they are finished with them?
5.      Which birds have the most unique or creative nest?
Take a nature walk around the neighborhood (practicing social distancing of course!)
and collect items that you think a bird might like to use to build a nest.
Look around your home as well to see if there are any items that you might
have laying around. Try your skills at building a nest for a bird!
Please remember to send photos to your teacher/DECE as well as to our Twitter
account @CPSpanthersTDSB
We can't wait to see what you create!
